Transhumanist fantasies with Alexander Thomas
In this episode, Elenor talks to Alexander Thomas, a filmmaker and academic, who leads a BA in media production at the University of East London. They discuss their new book about transshumanism, a philosophical movement that aims to improve human abilities through technology, and whose followers include Jeff Bezos, Alon Musk, Larry Page, and DJ Steve Aoki apparently. Alex itself is one of the leading critics of the transshumanism. It invents the transshumanist fantasy about the fate of humans, it is confusing by the extremes of probability: they either believe that AI will bring us a radical abundance or completely extinct. In this episode Alexander says, transshumanism reduces life with information process and intelligence, which is similar to a kind of IQ Fatisism
