What is this
Every Thursday, I will share a god diary about what we are doing in the past few weeks. I will focus on the interesting challenges and solutions I am facing. I will not be able to cover everything, but I will share what I was interested.
Why do I do
I want to bring our community on this journey, and I like to write the things I have enthusiast! This is my unfilter God Journal, so please keep in mind that what I write here is my thoughts and that you will read this will be old by the time, because many things change quickly. Any plans that I refer to are not set in stone and everything is subject to change. Also, if you do not like spoilers, don’t read this.
Space Engineers 2
- V1.2 In a few days, Monday will be free of April 14
- Exist, players will build in projection mode (so as the first projection, and then weld it). We need a particle effect for it, so here is a prototype.
- The new IK is great, but when you go up the ladder or ramp, in the first person mode, the camera goes up and down, and you will continue to movement for a small moment, and this is what we want to clean in the first person mode (a secondary movement in the first person mode, just sliding by space). So we will pay attention to this in the future in the polishing phase
- This week we had our regular platest, and the things I have focused on:
- Consumer – Treatment by Medicit (Automatic or Manual)
- Death – Damage to Health or Collision, and Breath
- Caves on the planets – we have some caves but also the CSG merged algorithm, so we can merge (add or cut) and make unlimited variations by many of them. They look good, real. What is needed to improve is the voxel material (stone) inside the mountains (planet), it does not look beautiful.
- Shooting from Debug Gun Now is the right recoil and C camera my shake. But I also realized that the way we portray the gun on the screen is not what I am accustomed to in other FPS games – so we will move the hand a little, and more in the center. Right now it is very vague of screen space and angle I think. Here I did to explain how I could use the new ChatGPT image generation model (input was a screenshot of the Game + Prompt to extend it to the camera and move more) to the center)
- No one has ever mentioned it but I think our GUI mass is Audio deo Leg with sound effect. For example, when you groom your mouse over the buttons, it doesn’t stick immediately, it looks like a lag. We will see it.
- You will be able to switch between the toolbar by the Alt + Ctrl + Mouse Wheel. I hope we will find some simple shortcuts in the future.
- We also wanted to play ore detection mechanics, but it postponed the next Platest.
- Deco runs better than prototyping (these are blocks that are not our usual big deco blocks; they are not as a painting or decorative as the smaller things you can use to make your interior look so blocked and easy; because they have a structural work). I expect players to use it to create rich -looking blueprints!
- Equipped and vague animation is also coming nicely.
- More flora!
- And as always, I’m amazed at the beautiful things that our players made!
